This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. (1 Corinthians 4: 1-2, NIV)
This October, instead of the Retreat Encounter & GMI Family Days
2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, we, the GMI family, will hold an Online
GMI Seminar on 9th - 11th October 2020. All of us are invited to receive
the power of God's Word that will be shared by servants of God from Indonesia
and the USA in order to fulfill the vision that God has given us, His
church. The purpose of holding this online seminar is also to form us
to be His trustworthy servants. Like what the apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians
4:1-2, what was ultimately required of the servants who were entrusted
with God's secret was that they could be trusted. The word "demanded"
here means the same as expected to be". There are still God's
servants who still don't realize that God is actually looking for people
who can be trusted in serving Him. It is not a matter of whether we can
or not, but a matter of whether we want to be processed by God's power
so that we can be perfected to fulfill God's calling according to His
plan and will.
There are still many Christians who cannot be trusted, for example in living a religious life. They know there are flaws, but are not willing to be perfected and live a life of worship only according to their own desires, not according to God's will. They only worship when there is time or when there is no problem, even though His Word tells us not to distance ourselves from worship meetings as some people do (Hebrews 10:25). This is only about worship, especially in terms of serving God. The participation and involvement of every member of the Body of Christ in following God's will wholeheartedly is an integral part for God to perfect us. Trustworthy ministry, growth and true spiritual awakening are one of the important means for the achievement of the vision and mission of building His body as written in Ephesians 4:16 which says - "From Him the whole body, - which is neatly arranged and bound together becomes one by the ministry of all its parts, according to the level of the work of each member - accepting his growth and building himself up in love .
The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, so that they could view him and his fellow ministers as servants of Christ who were entrusted with the secret of God, that is, if they could truly be trusted. The ministry in God needs to be carried out by Christ's disciples who want to be perfected to become trustworthy. This is a process in our life. The word "trustworthy" for the apostle Paul is an important word that also shows the highest commitment to fulfill God's calling. If we all desire to be trustworthy servants, then let us also want to be perfected by God. In 2 Thessalonians 1: 11-12 the apostle Paul prays, Therefore we always pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling and by his power accomplish your will to do good and accomplish all your works of faith, so that the name Jesus, our Lord, is glorified in you and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. "Let us also continue to be perfected with His strength to become trustworthy servants of God, so that God's name can be be glorified in us and we in Him, Amen. Jesus bless you!
