But while they were going away to buy oil, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut and locked (Matthew 25:10, AMP)
Matthew 25:10 is part of the parable that the Lord Jesus told His disciples, that is about the wise virgins and foolish virgins in waiting for the bridegroom to come. (Matthew 25:1-13). This parable describes the coming of Christ who will take His congregation. The brides who are the image of the followers of Christ are divided into two groups, there are followers of Christ who are illustrated as foolish virgins and there are followers of Christ who are illustrated as wise virgins. The wedding banquet room or wedding feast represents the Kingdom of Heaven (ver. 1) In thought about the readiness of believers to fulfill the calling of the minister, we can also describe the virgins in this parable as foolish servants of God and wise servants of God. Talking about "foolish" and "wise" in this parable, we can understand these two things by what the Lord Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew 7:24-27 (AMP), which is about people who build houses. So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, will be like a wise man, who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it felland great and complete was its fall. The foolish build their houses on sand, and the wise build their houses on rock. When rainstorms, floods and winds slam, houses built on rock do not fall, while those built on sand fall and are critically damaged. The foolish describes God's servants who are not ready to enter the wedding banquet, while those who are ready enter with Jesus into the wedding banquet room (the marriage supper of the Lamb - Revelation 19:6-10). In the previous verses in Matthew 7:21-23 (AMP) it says, 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name? 23 And then I will declare to them publicly, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly. In verse 22, God speaks specifically for those who have served God, explicitly those who prophesy, cast out demons and perform many miracles in the name of God. They are same as the image of the foolish virgins who cannot enter the wedding banquet room. Because of what? Because they do not truly know God and either still do evil or are still wearing the yoke of slavery to sin (Gal. 5:1, 13). In contrast, the wise virgins are the image of God's servants who do God's will by doing what God says (Matt. 7:21, 24), which is faithful and with full responsibility. Therefore, let us be on the alert (Matthew 25:13) and let us be God's servants who want to do His will with full responsibility. Amen!
