You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on Youin both inclination and character], because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. (Isaiah 26:3 AMP)
This June is a special month, as the congregation of the Indonesian Mission
Church in Frankfurt turns 33 years old. The anniversary of GMI-F will
be celebrated on the first Sunday of June 7, 2026. We should be grateful
to God, as Head of the Church, who has been pleased to lead and accompany
the family of God in the GMI Frankfurt congregation for these 33 years.
Through the years, through generations, through the various struggles
and challenges He permits, God continues to extend His peace to His family
through the knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus (2 Peter 1:2).
The sub-topic of the 2026 theme for May-June is: Having faith and
standing firm in building His family (Building a fellowship of the
body of Christ that is faithful and increasingly firm in the end times).
And this June we will reflect together on how as His church (God's Family)
we can have a firm heart in following God, because those whose hearts
are firm will be kept by God with peace (Isaiah 26:3). For this reason,
let us continue to stand firm in building a family of God filled with
peace. At the end of this era, because of increasing iniquity, the love
of many people has become cold (Matthew 24:12) and as a result many families
have turned into broken families and lost peace. God calls believers and
every member of His family/body to remain firm. This June, let's explore
together how we can stand firm in building His family. We are not only
planned for His glory, but also need to strive to maintain the unity of
the Spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3).
The Church of God was present and founded by the Lord Jesus on the face
of this earth for God's eternal purposes and purposes (Matthew 16:18,
19). God's will for His church is that we be fellow citizens with the
saints and members of the family of God. For this reason, we need to continue
to be built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ
Jesus as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:19-20). This is the key to spiritual
strength so that we can remain firm. After the day of Pentecost (the Holy
Spirit was poured out), the early church stood firmly and continued to
be built up in the teachings of the apostles and also in the fellowship
of the saints (Acts 2:42 a, etc.). The teaching and communion of the saints
need to be balanced. And they can stand firm according to God's will and
continue to be transformed into the likeness of Christ in ever greater
glory. In the early church generation, many people were successfully transformed
into the likeness of Christ and filled with His glory. Many members of
the body of Christ were changed by God's power and were also used by God
to win many souls for God.
If we realize that, by God's will, we are now part of the fellowship of
God's family in the local church He has chosen for us, then we need to
stand firm and proactively develop ourselves within a healthy and authentic
local congregation, grounded in the teachings and power of His Word, worked
by the power of the Holy Spirit, and the practice of living together in
the fellowship of God's family. Let us continue to remember that we, His
Church, are still led by the power of the Holy Spirit to remain steadfast
in building His family! Unless the Lord builds the house (His family),
those who build it labor in vain (Psalm 127:1). Lord Jesus bless you,
Amen!
